
You would like to create a CEWE PHOTO BOOK without using the intelligent Assistant?
In step 1 please select the cover type. Please note that your design features for the cover depend on the type of cover you choose.
For more information and images of covers and bindings please see the section »Products«. There you will find detailed product descriptons and images of the various cover types.
Start your CEWE PHOTO BOOK Software and select the size. The assistant will start immediately. Click on »Cancel« to exit the assistant and to switch to the editing mode. The first two pages of your CEWE PHOTO BOOK are the cover pages. In the Classic Version the color of the linen cover can be changed by clicking on the tab »Cover« and then selecting another color. In the Aero Version you first have to select as cover type in »Book settings« (left menu) »Linen Cover«. Then click in theon the cover pages in the »Storyboard« at the top of the screen. In the section »Backgrounds« you can choose from the different cover colours. To change the colour drag the selected colour from the left menu onto the cover pages.
Then click on the tab »Images« and select a cover image. Click on the tab »Layouts« and choose from our four different layouts for the cover image. The image can eithr be printed landscape or portrait. The title can be printed above or below the image. Double-click on the text field to enter your title.
Please note: Hard and soft cover pages are by default white. You can design the entire front and back page of the cover using images, backgrounds and texts. There are no limintations on the layout. The cover and inner pages will be printed as you see them in the editor or the preview. The preview of your CEWE PHOTO BOOK can be started by clicking on the »Preview« button in the bottom navigation.
Your CEWE PHOTO BOOK will be printed as shown in the editor or preview. Please make sure that you placed images on every page, including the cover (first double page in your CEWE PHOTO BOOK which is marked »Cover« in the story board). Blank pages will remain white and will not be removed from your CEWE PHOTO BOOK during the production process.
You would like to use one of your own images as backgound (left, right or both pages)?
Select an image in the left menu »Images« and click with the right-click on the image. The choose the option to use this image as background either on one or both pages.

The tab »Images« in the left menu displays your local folders on your computer. If you click on a directory the images of this directory are displayed. By default only JPG files are displayed. To insert an image into your CEWE PHOTO BOOK drag the image via drag & drop either into an image field or onto free space on a page.
Images that have already been selected for the photo bookwill have a check mark in their thumbnail in the preview of »Images« in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
If the resolution of an image is too low the quality indicator smiley turns red. In the Classic Version this smiley can be found in the right-hand menu. The Aero Version displays the smiley in the thumbnail which is located in the center above the editing area. By resizing the image the quality can be improved.

You can choose from a large selection of different layouts and backgrounds. None of these layouts is static. Any layout is only a proposal. You can resize or rotate every image, insert or delete images and rearange the images. Click on the tab »Layouts« in the left menu. Select how many images your page layout should contain. Choose your favorite layout and drag it onto the page in the editor.
To insert a background on a single or double page click on the tab »Backgrounds« in the left menu. Select a background and drag it either only on one page or on both pages.
To change the way images are inserted in a layout click on »Settings« in the top navigation. You can either select that the size of the image field is adjusted to the aspect ratio of the image or that the image field is fixed and the selected image is cropped accordingly.

Would you like to insert text or captions? In the Classic Version please click on the button »New text« in the right menu. A text field is inserted into your book. By double-clicking on the text field an editor opens. In the Aero Version click on the »T« symbol in the tool bar above the editor. A text field is inserted. Click into the field to enter your text.
In order to change the size click on one of the little squares in the corners of the field and resize the field by dragging the mouse. By clicking on the inner square in the center you can rotate the image field. With left mouse click on frame or the text field you can replace it.
The warning triangle is displayed when the text field is not large enough to show the entire text. Only the what you see in thee edit or preview mode will be printed. Please increase the text field or decrease the font size of your text. When the warning triangle disappears the text will be properly printed.
If you copy text from other programs such as e.g. Word please make sure that the copied text does not contain any formatting. In order to get rid of formatting open e.g. Notepad Editor (Start -> All programs -> Accecories -> Editor) and insert the text. Copy the text again and paste it into the text editor of the CEWE PHOTO BOOK software. Copying the text into an ASCII editor such as Notepad you remove all fromating (e.g. hyperlinks, underline, bold, italic).

You can increase or decrease the total number of pages of your CEWE PHOTO BOOK at any time during the compilation process.
In the Classic Version this can be done via the pulldown menu in the bottom navigation. In the Aero Version this pulldown menu is located at the top of the left navigation. The total amount will always be increased or decreased in steps of 8 pages. Depending on the size you have chosen your CEWE PHOTO BOOK has a minimum and maximum page number.
The minimum number of pages is 26, the maximum number of pages is 98, except for the booklet which is limited to a maximum of 50 pages.

Every double page can be moved. To do so click on the name of a page (e.g. »Page 2 + Page 3«), keep the left mouse button pressed and move the double page where you want to insert it. The first and the last page cannot be moved.
